Introduction to the Underground
The Underground Nation is a small community of friends and family that are involved in many different games with a light and informal atmosphere. If you are getting this news letter its because you registered to one of our many forums. We would like to thank you for that and should advise you that we are now only using one forum, to which we will provide the link at the end of this letter. When the idea of the underground started it was only to waste time online, but it has evolved much since that time. What makes us different from most communities, is that we don't limit our selfs or the forums to one game. You can join the underground and play all the games we offer or just the featured game. Or you could not play any game and just hang out in the IRC channel while you work or what ever you do online.
feature Story
The featured game for the Underground is a a turn based war game, unsurprisingly called "War Games". Don't let the name fool you, it's not all about war. The game is a blend of strategy, diplomacy, and war. The game resets every month, so no one alliance can get a strangle hold on the game every round, it also means that we'll be on even ground with everyone else.
Even if you aren't one for diplomacy or fancy words the game still pertains mostly to combat in some form. From spies, to air raids, all the way to chemical missiles the game gives a multitude of ways to fight and win. The game is turn based, and you gain 4 turns every 20 minutes. Turns are what you use to carry out actions, like attack people or build war factories.
Everyone starts out as the head of a small country, and you have to manage it's army, buildings, budget, etc. As you build up you make more money and can do more things, such as research better tanks and bombers or enrich uranium to nuke enemies until they glow.

The Underground nation
We run an alliance in the game, called the Underground nation, or UGN for short. Currently we are building up our alliance with members from our community as well as recruiting in game. In only three days of playing we ranked up to spot 49 on the server, which is farther than some alliances ever get in the course of the round.
Anyone is welcome to join up, if you aren't in the underground then all you have to do is sign up on our forums and then apply in game, and you're set.

Conclusion
The game is kinda like battle dawn, and old game the Underground was involved with. That being a war game where you have to manage a colony, or country in the case of war games, as well as diplomacy and warfare. One key difference is you aren't limited in attacks by distance, there is no map or anything. But the game requires a lot more strategy, you cant just mass 100 groups of tanks and smash anyone. In this game even if you're highly outnumbered if you play your cards right you can win.
But like battle dawn the game resets every month, so even if you don't do so well in one round you can come back the next. I advise anyone who likes war and strategy games to try War Games out with us, especially those people who liked battle dawn.
Membership
What the Underground can offer new members is a spot in our community, including our forums and IRC channel as well as a spot in the games we play. We often find new online games to play and encourage members to bring any good games to the table for us to set up shop in. As well anyone looking to find some cool games to play would be welcome to partake. This news letter is the newest venture the underground has taken on. We find our self in need of skilled writers editors and a graphics team. We have over 250 total registered members on 3 different forums (which have been closed). So we have a projected reader base of over 250 readers.
